Job summary

GFL is seeking a hazardous materials removal worker to join our demolition and decontamination team in Lansing, MI. You will address asbestos and other dangerous substances at industrial, commercial and residential properties, with regional travel required 3–5 days per week.

Starting compensation is $20 per hour, with overtime opportunities. Lodging paid and daily per diem are provided; you will be part of a team dedicated to safe, sustainable solutions for customers and communities.

Qualifications

• Experience handling hazardous materials.
• Experience using power tools.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to travel 3–5 days per week; lodging provided.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Pre-employment drug and background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with demolition or renovation.
• Remove hazardous substances such as lead and asbestos using tools.
• Thoroughly clean contaminated areas with steam cleaners and pumps.
• Clean equipment after use with appropriate solvents and chemicals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by site supervisor.
