Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Harness Design Engineer for Starshield to own satellite harness design from early concepts through production and flight. You will work on avionics interconnection, 3D NX drawings, and system trades, collaborating across mechanical, electrical, RF and EMI teams.

This role demands rigorous qualification work, experience with wire harness design, and the ability to lead manufacturability and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or other engineering discipline.
• Experience with electro-mechanical wire harness design or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own satellite avionics interconnection systems from design through production and flight.
• Architect harness designs with power/connectivity and reliability considerations.
• Develop 3D NX harness designs and drawings for manufacturability and integration.
• Contribute to satellite layout to optimize size, weight, power, and assembly.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, RF, EMI teams to identify requirements.
• Perform analysis and testing of harnessing for thermal, loads, and vibration.
• Own delivery timelines from conception to launch and coordinate with production.
• Conduct R&D and trade studies to push harness design boundaries.
• Demonstrate ownership of product outcomes at all stages.
