Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Harness Engineering Specialist (Starshield) to design and release satellite harness CAD models, qualify interconnects, and develop fabrication methods for various satellite configurations. You will work cross-functionally on harnesses for flight and qualification programs in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires experience with 3D CAD harnessing, electrical/optical harnessing processes, and the ability to travel to vendor and partner locations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional wire harnessing experience or similar environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar field is acceptable in place of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release harness design solutions in a 3D NX CAD environment (models and drawings).
• Adhere to and improve internal design standards and requirements.
• Generate electrical schematics for flight and qualification designs.
• Perform mechanical and electrical testing to qualify harnesses for flight.
• Triage non-conforming interconnect products and drive resolution actions.
• Develop new tooling and manufacturing methods for electrical and optical harnessing.
