Job summary

SpaceX’s Starlink program seeks an Avionics Design Engineer to take ownership of harness design from concept through production. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, developing electro-mechanical harnesses, generating schematics, and ensuring qualification through testing.

The role emphasizes NX CAD validation, trade studies, and collaboration with production. Strong communication and hands-on project experience are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Hands-on project experience with complex mechanical systems; team lead preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop electro-mechanical harness designs for Starlink vehicles.
• Create harness designs in 3D NX CAD and conduct trade studies to meet requirements.
• Generate electrical schematics for flight and qualification designs.
• Own vehicle-level harnessing assemblies and oversee system integration trades.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical testing for harness qualification.
• Document results through design reviews and produce manufacturing drawings.
• Coordinate with production and integration to ensure on-schedule harness delivery.
• Perform R&D and trade studies to reduce mass and cost.
