Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Harness Engineering Specialist (Starshield) to design and release satellite harness CAD models, qualify interconnects, and develop new harness fabrication methods across satellite configurations. The role offers exposure to diverse subsystems and a highly collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will work on 3D NX CAD harnessing, create manufacturing drawings, generate flight and qualification schematics, and participate in mechanical and electrical testing to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional wire harnessing experience or equivalent, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD harnessing/routing design and drafting in Siemens NX or similar software.
• Experience with electrical/optical harnessing processes and tooling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous, demanding environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release harness design solutions within a 3D NX CAD environment, including CAD models and manufacturing drawings/formboards.
• Adhere to and improve internal design standards and requirements.
• Generate electrical schematics for flight and qualification designs.
• Perform mechanical and electrical testing to qualify harnesses for flight.
• Triage non-conforming interconnect products and drive corrective actions.
• Develop new tooling and manufacturing methods for fabricating electrical and optical harnessing products.
