Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Hardware Test Specialist for Starlink to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware failures on satellites and ground stations. You will work across electrical, mechanical, software, and supply chain teams to improve reliability of PCBA assemblies and overall Starlink network.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting test systems, supporting production and qualification tests, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related field is preferred.
• Experience with electronics testing and troubleshooting a must.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• First level troubleshooting of test system errors from logs and telemetry.
• Support production, engineering, and qualification tests including equipment setup and config.
• Aid in root-cause analysis of failures and implement permanent resolutions.
• Introduce new configurations into production.
• Design or repair fixtures and tools to improve manufacturing processes.
• Identify changes to design, process, safety, and layout to improve yield and cost.
• Perform detailed failure analysis of satellite and gateway hardware and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve reliability.
• Use schematics, test equipment, and inspection processes to conduct failure investigations.
• Work with test engineers to improve assets and feedback loops.
• Monitor yield and quality metrics and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct environmental testing to validate robustness.
• Provide guidance on failure resolution and process improvements.
