Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Hardware Test Specialist for Starlink to identify and resolve hardware failures in satellites and ground stations. You will work with electrical, mechanical, software, and supply chain teams to improve device reliability and performance of PCBAs.

The role requires troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions across test systems, production lines, and field operations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalency; 1+ years hands-on technical experience or a bachelor's in engineering.
• Experience with electronic testing and inspection using measurement devices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot test systems by reading logs and telemetry.
• Support production, engineering, and qualification tests including setup and troubleshooting.
• Investigate root-causes of equipment failures and implement permanent fixes.
• Introduce new configurations into production.
• Design or repair fixtures, tooling, and shop aids to optimize manufacturing.
• Identify design/process changes to improve yield, performance, and cost.
• Perform detailed failure analysis on PCBA and related hardware.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams for reliability.
• Use schematics and test equipment to conduct failure investigations.
• Provide feedback to test engineers to improve assets.
• Monitor yield and quality metrics, driving corrective actions.
• Conduct environmental testing (thermal, vibration, HALT/HASS, TVAC).
• Support production and field operations with failure resolution guidance.
• Document failure analysis findings and corrective actions.
