Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Hardware Test Specialist for Starlink to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware failures in satellites and ground stations. You will work across electrical, mechanical, software and supply chain teams to enhance reliability of PCBA and equipment.

The role involves root-cause investigation, environmental testing, and implementing corrective actions to improve yield and performance. Strong hands-on testing skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; 1+ years in a hands-on technical role or engineering degree.
• Experience with electronic testing and failure analysis using standard lab equipment.
• Strong documentation and ability to communicate technical results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot test systems by reading logs and telemetry to identify failures.
• Support production, engineering and qualification tests with setup and troubleshooting.
• Investigate root causes and implement permanent fixes via software or hardware changes.
• Introduce new configurations into production and improve fixtures and tooling.
• Perform failure analysis on PCBA and electronic components to drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and quality teams to boost reliability.
• Document failure findings, test results and corrective actions thoroughly.
• Conduct environmental testing (thermal, vibration, HALT/HASS, TVAC) to validate robustness.
• Monitor yield and quality metrics; participate in continuous improvement.
• Maintain close feedback loop with test engineers to improve test assets.
