Job summary

Pronto AI in San Francisco is seeking a Hardware & Manufacturing TPM to own the intake queue for hardware and QC issues from build lines and field sites, replacing a mix of Slack messages with a single, prioritized stream.

You will triage by severity, set response-time expectations with partners, and prioritize the dev queue to unblock a build.

You’ll own onsite QC/escalation, track recurring defects, and work with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to drive fixes and timely builds.

Qualifications

• Hands-on hardware, manufacturing, or field-ops background.
• Experience as the triage point between site/build partners and engineering: high urgency, decisive prioritization.
• Have stood up an intake or QC process from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Own a single intake queue for hardware and QC issues reported from build lines and field sites.
• Triage every incoming issue by severity and impact, distinguishing line-stopping defects from cosmetic ones.
• Set and hold response-time expectations for build partners and plant contacts.
• Prioritize the engineering dev queue against what’s actually blocking a build or a site.
• Identify when several tickets are the same underlying defect and consolidate into one fix.
• Own escalation for onsite QC failures and inventory shortages across field and factory.
• Track recurring hardware defects back to root cause and escalate to owning team.
• Escalate hardware issues affecting truck builds across on-road upfit lines and off-road mining kit.
