People Connect Staffing is seeking a Production Engineer — Materials and Manufacturing in the San Jose area to drive transition from design to scalable, reliable production. You will shape manufacturing processes, define work instructions, and ensure timely builds with accurate BOMs and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, operations, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, process engineering, manufacturing operations, materials planning, inventory control, or related hardware environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and tech docs.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, inventory, purchasing, production schedules, and build readiness.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to production quality.
• Experience creating or improving work instructions, checklists, production procedures, inventory processes, or manufacturing documentation.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and comfort with inventory trackers, build plans, BOMs, lead times, purchasing data.
• Ability to manage multiple parts, suppliers, deadlines, and build requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and maintain production processes for assembly, testing, shipment, and installation readiness.
• Translate engineering designs into repeatable production workflows.
• Create and maintain work instructions, assembly procedures, checklists, QC documents, and production travelers.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve assembly, wiring, mechanical, documentation, and process issues.
• Support production planning by defining labor, tooling, workstation setup, material flow, and sequencing.
• Review BOMs, drawings, and customer configurations for accuracy.
• Ensure builds align with approved design, customer requirements, and installation scope.
• Identify opportunities to reduce errors and improve efficiency and build time.
• Support incoming, in-process, final inspections and test-readiness processes.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective-action for production or quality issues.
• Work with engineering on design-for-manufacturing and design-for-installation improvements.
• Support production readiness for new revisions and field upgrades.
• Coordinate with suppliers and agencies to meet UL/ISO requirements.
