Job summary

PeopleConnect Staffing client in the San Jose area seeks a Production Engineer — Materials and Manufacturing to bridge design and reliable production, ensuring repeatable assembly, testing, and installation readiness.

You will lead process improvements, manage materials and BOMs, coordinate with suppliers, and support scheduling to meet customer install timelines in a fast-growing hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering or related field.
• Experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, process engineering, or hardware environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, inventory, purchasing, and production schedules.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on production quality.
• Experience creating or improving work instructions and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production processes for assembly, testing, and installation readiness.
• Translate designs into clear, repeatable workflows and create work instructions.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure availability of parts.
• Support inventory planning, scheduling, and supplier coordination to meet builds.
