Job summary

PeopleConnect Staffing seeks a Production Engineer — Materials and Manufacturing to join our client in the San Jose area. The role focuses on transitioning designs to reliable production, improving workflows, and ensuring installation readiness.

The ideal candidate will own manufacturing processes, BOM accuracy, inventory planning, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, supply chain, and installation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, process engineering, or hardware environments.
• Ability to read BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production processes for assembly, testing, shipment, and installation readiness.
• Translate engineering designs into repeatable production workflows and write work instructions.
• Coordinate with engineering to ensure design-for-manufacturing and documentation accuracy.
• Support production planning, labor, tooling, and material flow.
• Assess bills of materials and configuration details for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure production builds align with approved designs and customer requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce errors and improve efficiency.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, operations, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

ERP / inventory tools (OpenBOM, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Fishbowl, Katana, Odoo, Google Sheets, Excel)
