Job summary

The City of Baltimore, Department of Transportation, is seeking Community Aides to support the Harbormaster Office with docking operations for recreational vessels at Inner Harbor, Fell’s Point, and Canton Waterfront Park.

Responsibilities include managing online reservations, collecting fees, and ensuring safe flow of boat traffic while delivering exceptional customer service to residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED; undergraduate degree preferred.
• Have 6 months of experience demonstrating organization, communication and multitasking.
• Must have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or be eligible to obtain a Baltimore City permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and boaters.
• Operate and maintain the 17’ Boston Whaler Montauk and VHF radio.
• Manage the online reservation system and docking schedule.
• Collect docking fees and prepare monthly utilization reports.
• Answer phone and email inquiries and resolve complaints.
• Promote dock availability to residents and tourists.
• Perform duties in accordance with Harbormaster Office regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
