Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Community Aide to support the Department of General Services with facilities maintenance operations and fleet service coordination. The role provides hands-on support to skilled trades staff and assists with administrative, customer service, and compliance-related functions to keep city facilities and fleet operations running safely.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of custodial or cleaning experience, knowledge of basic maintenance tasks, and

Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in cleaning, custodial work.
Preferred: Experience in facilities support and maintenance, customer service, or administrative support.

Responsibilities

Assists Building Repairers or Fleet staff with repair, maintenance, and operational support tasks.
Performs minor painting, carpentry, custodial, or general maintenance duties.
Conducts visual inspections of City facilities, fixtures, equipment, or fleet assets and reports issues.
Leads or assists with cleanup and organization after repairs, maintenance work, emergencies, or weather events.
Responds to City emergencies or inclement weather in support of facilities or fleet operations.
