Job summary

Volt is hiring a Handyman in Fremont, CA to perform maintenance and repair tasks on our properties, install appliances, paint walls, and assist other trades. A valid driver’s license and transportation between buildings are required. The role involves reading instructions and blueprints, lifting heavy objects, and following safety guidelines.

The position is Full-time, contract, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5:15pm. Pay ranges from $22.00 to $23.00 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
• Transportation to and from work and between buildings.
• Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform various maintenance and repair tasks on our properties, such as fixing plumbing issues, installing appliances, painting walls, pulling cables.
• Assist other tradespeople with more complex projects, such as electrical wiring, HVAC installation, or carpentry work.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various properties, such as fixing CCTV cameras, network connections, making network cables, replacing light bulbs, building furniture and equipment, pulling cables, etc.
• Safely operate equipment such as a forklift or lift.
• Report any major issues or damages that require further attention or professional intervention.
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations when performing tasks.

As a Handyman, you will:

• Perform various maintenance and repair tasks on our properties, such as fixing plumbing issues, installing appliances, painting walls, pulling cables.
• Assist other tradespeople with more complex projects, such as electrical wiring, HVAC installation, or carpentry work.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Working knowledge of different tools and equipment, such as drills, saws, hammers, etc.
• Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and blueprints.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and getting work done efficiently and safely.
• Detail oriented and good organization skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-moving environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Payrate: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour DOE
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
