Job summary

Stand is seeking an experienced underwriter to lead a high-net-worth personal lines book, handling complex homes, unique exposures, and CAT risks. You will partner with brokers, marketing, mitigation, and engineering to assess risks, craft creative terms, and deliver a superior client experience.

You’ll own your book with decisive authority, shaping submissions and leveraging technology to improve underwriting while preserving essential human judgment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years underwriting experience in personal lines (HNW/complex property preferred)
• Strong risk analysis, property & liability coverage, pricing & compliance
• Proven profitable book management and broker service
• Ability to negotiate terms with internal/external stakeholders
• Efficient desk management
• Tech-savvy and able to systematize repeatable tasks

Responsibilities

• Own underwriting strategy for a high-net-worth personal lines book including complex homes, unique exposures, and CAT risks.
• Collaborate with brokers, marketing, mitigation, and engineering teams to evaluate risks and structure creative terms.
• Execute with ownership, make decisive calls on complex submissions, and drive adoption of technology in underwriting.
• Refine underwriting tools and workflows; identify repeatable tasks to systematize and improve risk evaluation, pricing, and service.
