Job summary

Stand Insurance in Austin seeks a hands-on senior underwriter for high-net-worth personal lines, including complex homes and CAT risks. You’ll own your book, make decisive calls on complex submissions, and collaborate with brokers, marketing, mitigation and engineering to deliver an experience that makes Stand the easiest carrier to work with.

You’ll leverage technology to improve underwriting while preserving human judgment, and you’ll work with a team focused on profitable growth and risk

Qualifications

• 3+ years of underwriting experience in personal lines
• Strong understanding of risk analysis, property & liability coverages, pricing and compliance
• Track record of managing a profitable book while delivering excellent broker service
• Ability to negotiate quote terms with internal and external stakeholders while building strong relationships
• Efficient and effective desk management
• Proficiency in leveraging technology with ability to adapt to new platforms and tools
• CPCU, or similar designation preferred
• Property & Casualty License / Excess and Surplus License

Responsibilities

• Own your book and make decisive calls on complex submissions
• Evaluate risks others won’t touch and structure creative terms
• Work with brokers, marketing, mitigation and engineering to deliver an outstanding client experience
• Refine underwriting tools and platforms and push for process improvements
