Job summary

Steak 'n Shake is hiring a Restaurant Manager to lead from the front and promote operational excellence. This hands-on leadership role requires you to work the line, oversee clean and safe operations, and deliver hospitality across all shifts.

Reporting to the General Manager/Franchise Partner, you will drive P&L, inventory control, scheduling, and team development to meet business goals and maintain high service standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of QSR or fast-casual restaurant management experience.
• Proven history of consistent work tenure and reliable leadership.
• Deep understanding of food cost management, labor optimization, and operational KPIs.
• Hands-on leadership—comfortable working the drive through or grill when needed.
• Tech-savvy with POS systems, inventory platforms, and invoice tools.
• Strong physical stamina: can lift 50 lbs., stay on your feet all day, and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Professionalism that tells the same story on LinkedIn and resume.
• Track record in hospitality excellence and navigating change in a team setting.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example—actively working the line, prepping food, maintaining cleanliness, and serving guests across all shifts: opening, mid-day, and closing.
