Job summary

Mosaic Design Labs in West Berkeley, CA is seeking a hands-on technician for one day a week to keep our fabrication tools running and help build fixtures, cables and prototypes our engineers need. Pay ranges from $28 to $40 per hour, depending on experience, with a paid trial project and ongoing hours for aspiring engineers and makers.

You will run our 3D printers and laser cutter, build cables and wiring harnesses, design simple jigs in CAD, test in-house software and assist with inventory.

Qualifications

• Electrical work includes soldering and debugging with basic electronics knowledge.
• Ability to read and follow task lists with careful, organized work habits.
• Familiarity with CAD tools or willingness to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Run our 3D printers and laser cutter (training provided).
• Build cables and wiring harnesses; basic electronics assembly.
• Design simple jigs and fixtures in CAD, then make them.
• Test our in-house software and write clear bug reports.
• Light mounting and assembly around the lab.
• Help verify and clean up our parts inventory.
