The hands-on side of a working biomedical lab: organizing, building, restocking, keeping it running.

This is a paid internship for students who want to be close to real hardware. A lot of it is the unglamorous work that keeps a lab productive: organizing, labeling, restocking, cleanup, taking out the trash. You will do it in a highly stimulating environment, alongside engineers building diagnostic instruments and the AI tools that help run the lab, and you will pick up real skills along the way.
Mosaic Design Labs is an AI-native biomedical product development studio in West Berkeley. We design instruments and devices for biodefense, point-of-care diagnostics and scientific research: firmware, circuit boards, microfluidics, mechanical design, and the software that ties them together.
AI is part of how we work every day. Our own agents keep our inventory, draft our documents, drive our CAD and lab tools, and help us test ideas quickly. People make every decision that matters, and we hold the work to the standard medical devices demand.
We believe the best way to learn this work is as an apprentice: at the bench, next to engineers doing it for real, picking up the hands-on craft and the new AI-native tools at the same time. Whatever role you start in, we want you to leave more capable than you arrived, and we want to grow people into bigger roles here.
