Job summary

1X in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Fabrication Technician to support the Prototyping shop. You will assemble and finish physical prototypes, including sanding parts, and provide hands-on support across projects.

You will work closely with engineers and designers, moving between tasks as priorities change, and help keep workspaces organized while maintaining a high standard of fit and finish.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assembling and finishing physical parts or prototypes.
• Ability to perform sanding and other detail-oriented finishing work.
• Comfort working in a shared shop and supporting multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototype parts and components with attention to fit and finish.
• Sand and finish parts to support prototype builds and evaluation.
• Provide hands-on support across projects as build priorities change.
• Raise fit, finish, or assembly issues you notice so the team can address them in the next iteration.
• Keep shared work areas and tools organized and ready for the next build.
