Job summary

Mosaic Design Labs in West Berkeley, CA is seeking a hands-on technician for one day a week to keep our fabrication tools running and help build fixtures, cables and prototypes our engineers need. Pay ranges from $28 to $40 per hour, depending on experience, with a paid trial project and ongoing hours for aspiring engineers and makers.

You will run our 3D printers and laser cutter, build cables and wiring harnesses, design simple jigs in CAD, test in-house software and assist with inventory.

Qualifications

• Electrical work includes soldering and debugging with basic electronics knowledge.
• Ability to read and follow task lists with careful, organized work habits.
• Familiarity with CAD tools or willingness to learn quickly.

Job description

3D printing, laser cutting, wiring harnesses, jigs and software testing, one day a week.

Hours 8 hours a week. One weekday preferred; a weekend day or two 4-hour blocks also work.

Location West Berkeley, CA (on site)

We are looking for a hands-on technician one day a week to keep our fabrication tools running and help build the fixtures, cables and prototypes our engineers need.

About you

• You know a capacitor from an inductor, can solder and crimp, and can use a multimeter.
• You have used CAD (Onshape, Fusion, SolidWorks or similar), or learn new tools quickly.
• You notice when something does not work and can describe exactly what happened.
• You are careful, organized, and reliable working on your own from a task list.
