Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in United States is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement our security fabric across on-premises and cloud environments, working alongside engineering through build and cutover.

This role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering and requires deep experience with firewalls, Zero Trust, and cloud networking across Azure, AWS, and GCP. Travel up to 10% may be required, and PCNSE/CISSP certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Seven+ years experience in an information security architect role.
• Seven+ years experience with regulatory compliance and security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and deployment tools.
• One or more Palo Alto Network certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, PCCSE, PCSAE).

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up: firewall policy and configuration, network segmentation, Zero Trust access design, and cloud network architecture in Microsoft Azure.
• Leads technical migrations end to end: assesses the current environment, designs the target state, builds the configuration, and manages the cutover.
• Works directly with engineering through build and implementation, adapting the design in real time when gaps appear.
• Reviews existing network security architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates legacy configurations.
• Documents architecture with configuration details, not just high-level diagrams.
