Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement security architecture across on-prem and cloud environments, collaborating closely with engineering to ensure secure delivery from the ground up.

The role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering and requires strong hands-on experience with firewall platforms, cloud security, and DevSecOps. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field.
• 7+ years in information security architecture.
• Experience with regulatory frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Hands-on network security design and implementation.
• Experience with cloud security and DevSecOps.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems.
• Familiarity with regex and JSON.
• Palo Alto Network certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from ground up: firewall policy and segmentation.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assessment, target state, build, cutover.
• Works with engineering during build and implementation, adjusts design as needed.
• Reviews architectures, identifies gaps, and remediates with hands-on work.
• Documents architecture with configurations, not just diagrams.
• Supports RSA tickets in ServiceNow and related efforts.
• Stays current on threats and technologies and applies them.
• Communicates design decisions clearly to engineers and stakeholders.
