Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and build the network security architecture our environment runs on, from firewall and segmentation design through cloud network architecture, and will stay engaged through implementation alongside engineering, not hand off a design and move on.

The Network Security Architect role sits within the Chief Information Security Officer Office, reporting to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering (SA&E).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Seven+ years in an Information Security Architect role.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, segmentation, and access control.
• Knowledge of encryption, data protection, and privilege design; Windows and Linux familiarity.
• CISSP or GIAC or similar certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design network security architecture from ground up, including firewall policy and cloud architecture.
• Lead end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, configure, and cutover.
• Collaborate with engineering through build and implementation, closing gaps between architecture and engineering.
• Review and remediate legacy configurations and technical debt.
• Provide technical expert guidance to engineering, IT, and business partners.
• Document architecture diagrams and configurations in detail and manage RSA tickets in ServiceNow.
