Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to promptly respond to maintenance calls, assess problems, and oversee repairs, either performing them or supervising contractors. The role covers a wide range of building systems, from electrical and plumbing to HVAC and carpentry, with preventative maintenance and inspections throughout.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of related experience.
• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can substitute for 1 year of related work experience.
• 3+ years experience in electronic and/or pneumatic control systems.
• Fluent in English; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance trouble calls and assess problems.
• Oversee repairs or contractors and carry out repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Assist with work orders, setups/teardowns, and budgeting.
• Monitor quality and assist in training and safety procedures.
