Job summary

Unisys is seeking an On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise data center servers and hardware environments. You will diagnose and repair server hardware, perform component swaps, and manage rack installations at customer sites in Chester, VA.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise servers, familiarity with Linux, and proficiency with server management tools like iDRAC/iLO. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasional travel are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise servers, data center hardware, or similar infrastructure.
• Direct, hands-on experience working on server hardware — installing, removing, diagnosing, repairing, or replacing components.
• Experience with memory, CPUs, power supplies, storage, RAID/HBA, NICs, fans/cooling, PCIe components, or GPUs.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures and system issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform hardware installation, removal, replacement, and repair (memory, CPUs, power supplies, drives, GPUs).
• Rack-and-stack, server installation, cabling, component swaps, and hardware configuration.
• Troubleshoot BIOS/firmware issues, server diagnostics, and operating systems with documented procedures.
• Document service activities, hardware replacements, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
• Escalate complex issues and participate in on-call rotations as required.
