Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, design custom splints, and develop recovery plans.

Key duties include supervising therapy assistants, orthotic fabrication, post-surgical rehab, and collaborating with hand surgeons and other clinicians to guide interdisciplinary care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required

Doctor of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy preferred

Graduate of accredited OT program

Current PT or OT license

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

CPR/BLS certification
