Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder in outpatient settings. You will evaluate patients and develop recovery plans with targeted therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities include orthotic design and fabrication, patient education on orthosis care, and collaboration with hand surgeons and therapists to optimize recovery and return-to-work outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or DOT preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehab experience.
• Current state PT or OT license.
• CHT credential and CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document Delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
