Job summary

Total Safety in Midland, TX is seeking a H2S Technician to operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air safety equipment on land-based drilling rigs or production platforms. You will perform routine checks, assist with maintenance, and ensure documentation is completed accurately to support safety compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 months H2S/upstream experience, OSHA/State training, and familiarity with SMART Inspections. High School diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months H2S/upstream experience.
• H2S Academy training completed (or willing to obtain).
• State and OSHA regulations training.
• SMART Inspections program proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rigging gas detection systems.
• Operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air equipment.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly checks on equipment.
• Fit testing of customer personnel.
• Inspect and service cooling & shower trailers.
• Document inspection and repair activities accurately.
• Ensure SCBA and air compressors are functional.
