Job summary

Newport Restaurant Group is hiring Line Cooks for the 2027 summer season at multiple oceanfront Rhode Island locations. This is a 2027 seasonal role with H-2B eligibility for out-of-country applicants, April 1–December 1, 2027, with housing and transportation assistance available.

Competitive hourly pay of $20.00/hour, and a path to join a growing, employee-owned hospitality company. You will report to the Executive Chef and work at one of our RI restaurants depending on location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of line cook experience.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds.
• Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other items to restaurant standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
• Assist in final dish preparation and presentation.
• Maintain a clean workstation and equipment.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth service.

Competitive compensation – $20 per hour!

Season dates: April 1 – December 1, 2027 (specific start and end dates may vary by location)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

No two days are exactly the same, but here’s the heart of the role:

• Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items to restaurant standards
• Make sure food orders are fulfilled promptly and correctly, checking the status of orders as they move through service
• Assist in final dish preparation, upholding our standards for quality, speed, and presentation
• Clean and maintain your workstation, cooking equipment, tools, and utensils
• Work closely with your team to keep service running smoothly

You’ll report directly to the Executive Chef at your assigned restaurant.

• 22 Bowen’s – Premier steak and seafood restaurant on Bowen’s Wharf
• Celeste – Southern European-inspired cuisine in Narragansett
• Boat House – Coastal New England dining with bay views in Tiverton
