Job summary

Newport Restaurant Group is seeking passionate line cooks for the 2027 summer season along the Rhode Island coast. This program targets out-of-country applicants for April 1 – December 1, 2027, with housing provided and transportation assistance available.

Compensation is $20 per hour, plus potential housing support. You will prepare, season, and cook items to restaurant standards, monitor orders, and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service under the guidance of the Executive Chef at

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of line cook experience.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to creating an equitable workplace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items to restaurant standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of food orders and monitor order status during service.
• Assist in final dish preparation, upholding standards for quality, speed, and presentation.
• Clean and maintain workstation, cooking equipment, tools, and utensils.
• Work closely with team to keep service running smoothly.
• Report directly to the Executive Chef at the assigned restaurant.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

No two days are exactly the same, but here’s the heart of the role:

• Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items to restaurant standards
• Make sure food orders are fulfilled promptly and correctly, checking the status of orders as they move through service
• Assist in final dish preparation, upholding our standards for quality, speed, and presentation
• Clean and maintain your workstation, cooking equipment, tools, and utensils
• Work closely with your team to keep service running smoothly
• You’ll report directly to the Executive Chef at your assigned restaurant.

• 22 Bowen’s – Premier steak and seafood restaurant on Bowen’s Wharf
• Celeste – Southern European-inspired cuisine in Narragansett
• Boat House – Coastal New England dining with bay views in Tiverton
