Job summary

Castle Hill Inn in Newport, RI, is hiring servers for the 2027 summer season through Newport Restaurant Group. This IN COUNTRY applicant pool offers housing within 2 miles, free furnishings, and transit options. Earn $3.89/hour plus tips for service across multiple venues, April 1–December 1, 2027.

Greet guests, take orders, serve food and beverages, and support event functions as needed. In-country applicants only; separate out-of-country postings exist.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of server experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25–50 pounds.
• Collaborative attitude and a respectful, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus, answer questions, and make food and beverage suggestions.
• Take and place orders, enter them into the POS system, total bills, and accept payment.
• Carry trays and serve food and beverages, including alcohol where appropriate.
• Set up dining areas and clean/clear tables.
• Serve across Castle Hill Inn venues including Aurelia and Lawn Terrace, and room/beach service.
• Occasionally assist with banquet events as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Greet guests, present menus, answer questions, and make food and beverage suggestions
• Take and place orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, total bills, and accept payment
• Carry trays and plates and serve food and non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
• Set up dining areas and clean and clear tables
• Serve across the Castle Hill Inn property, including Aurelia (fine dining), Lawn Terrace (outdoor terrace-style restaurant), room service, and beach restaurant service
• Occasionally work banquet events on an as-needed basis

You’ll report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage at Castle Hill Inn.

PLACEMENT LOCATION: CASTLE HILL INN

For our H-2B Server program, you’ll be placed at Castle Hill Inn, a world-class Relais & Châteaux property located on 40 acres overlooking Narragansett Bay. This historic coastal retreat features fine dining, banquet facilities, and two acclaimed restaurants, offering you the opportunity to learn and grow in a premier hospitality setting.
