Job summary

Newport Restaurant Group in Rhode Island is looking for skilled Line Cooks to join our culinary team for the 2027 summer season on the Rhode Island coast. If you’re passionate about food and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, this seasonal home offers care for its people.

Competitive pay at $20/hour with housing within 2 miles of your work location, transportation assistance for select sites, and an employee referral bonus program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of line cook experience.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds.
• Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items to restaurant standards.
• Make sure food orders are fulfilled promptly and correctly, checking the status of orders as they move through service.
• Assist in final dish preparation, upholding our standards for quality, speed, and presentation.
• Clean and maintain your workstation, cooking equipment, tools, and utensils.
• Work closely with your team to keep service running smoothly.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

No two days are exactly the same, but here’s the heart of the role:

• Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items to restaurant standards

You’ll report directly to the Executive Chef at your assigned restaurant.

• The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar – Iconic waterfront dining in downtown Newport
• 22 Bowen’s – Premier steak and seafood restaurant on Bowen’s Wharf
• Celeste – Southern European-inspired cuisine in Narragansett
• Boat House – Coastal New England dining with bay views in Tiverton
