Job summary

MV Public School District in Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the Winter 26-27 season. The role supports the head coach in try-outs, practices, games, and day-to-day program operations, helping cultivate a positive, competitive program within MV public schools.

The ideal candidate has a valid Minnesota coaching certificate or equivalent qualifications, plus demonstrated coaching experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to student development and community

Qualifications

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
• Strong background in and understanding of wrestling.
• Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in building a comprehensive program and developing staff.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with the school community.
• Energetic, positive, and committed to student development.

Stipends are paid in accordance with the Teacher Labor Agreement, Appendix C

Overview

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of running the program including try-outs, team selection, practices, games, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
• Strong background in and understanding of the specific sport.
• Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experiencein building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the schoolmission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc.
• View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
