Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking an enthusiastic Gymnastics and Tumbling Instructor to teach children across age groups. You will plan and lead age-appropriate classes that build strength, flexibility and coordination while ensuring safety and positive learning experiences.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, managing equipment, and promoting YMCA programs. The role emphasizes clear communication with families and adherence to YMCA policies in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year teaching or instructional experience.
• Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
• Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills.
• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
• Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Gymnastics and Tumbling Instructor to teach children of various ages and skill levels. The instructor will plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate classes that focus on developing strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and fundamental gymnastics and tumbling skills. Responsibilities include providing safe and effective instruction, encouraging skill progression, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

What You'll Do

• Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
• Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
• Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to attendance records, rosters, etc
• Manages all equipment.
• Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
• Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
• Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
• Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

• 16 years of age with high school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1-year prior teaching or instructional experience
• Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
• Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skillsAbility to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
• Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
