Job summary

24 Hour Fitness in California seeks a General Manager to drive membership growth, revenue, and operational excellence. You will lead a high-performing team to deliver an exceptional member experience and meet ambitious sales goals.

You will oversee daily club operations, manage budgets, implement safety standards, and build community relationships to attract and retain members. The role requires hands-on leadership, coaching, and a relentless focus on results.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of management experience in retail/hospitality/fitness industry.
• 2-4 years of progressive management experience supervising 3-10+ employees.
• Ability to inspire and lead teams to implement and deliver on member and team member initiatives through a strong service focus and creating and implementing a consistent and robust service culture.
• Ability to create an outstanding member and team member experience with a high-performance culture through people development, innovation, and collaboration within your team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• CPR/AED certification is required within 30 days of hire. The company provides access to an approved training program at no cost to support this requirement. Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
• Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization within 90 days of hire or a degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology may satisfy this requirement

Responsibilities

• Drive membership sales, fitness, retail, and other revenue streams to exceed targets.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team with shared goals.
• Provide ongoing coaching and leadership, setting clear objectives and delegating responsibilities.
• Foster a welcoming, community-focused environment to engage and retain members.
• Oversee daily club operations, maintenance, equipment upkeep, and cleanliness.
• Manage budgets, control expenses, and maximize profitability within policies.
• Implement safety protocols and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Represent the gym at community events and lead outreach to attract new members.
