Job summary

The City of Kennewick Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Guest Services Representative to be the first point of contact for visitors at our recreation facilities.

The role emphasizes friendly, professional service, payment processing, and helping with events and rentals. Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years of customer service, basic computer skills, and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Spanish-speaking applicants are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Evenings, weekends and holidays required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of full-time customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Positive attitude; able to work with diverse people.
• Spanish-speaking candidates are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers enthusiastically and professionally, in person and by phone.
• Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages.
• Assist full-time staff with set up and take down of events and rentals.
• Assist with small departmental projects.
• Manage facilities after traditional City business hours.
• Process payments and daily cash drawer close out.
• Perform clerical duties including data entry, reports, emailing.
• Ensure customers follow program and facility rules.
• Perform basic cleaning and light janitorial functions.
• Provide first aid and emergency response when required.
• Open/close facility for daily operations.
• Other responsibilities as needed to maintain operations.
