Job summary

People Serving People seeks a Guest Services Shift Lead to supervise front desk operations in Minnesota’s largest family homeless shelter. You will mentor Associates, ensure adherence to policies, and coordinate with the Hennepin County Shelter Team to deliver 24/7 support.

You’ll train new staff, triage guest issues, and monitor room availability and service quality, helping the shelter run smoothly while keeping guests safe and cared for.

Qualifications

• AA or at least 1 year of relevant experience required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, loud environment.
• Experience serving diverse populations and homeless families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor Guest Services associates and provide frontline support.
• Enforce Front Desk policies in coordination with shelter team.
• Triage guest issues and refer to supervisors when needed.
• Quality control for audits, room status, and meal lists.
• Represent Guest Services to Hennepin County Shelter Team.
• Provide development feedback to coordinators and manager.
• Model integrity and professionalism in daily work.
