Job summary

People Serving People is seeking a Guest Services Overnight Associate to ensure unmatched guest service at our 24/7 emergency shelter in Minnesota. The role requires punctuality, dependability, and strong conflict de-escalation skills while supporting a Sunday-Thursday overnight schedule from 11:00 p.m.

to 7:30 a.m. Responsibilities include greeting guests, processing intake and vouchers, handling information requests, and maintaining front desk operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of front desk or hospitality experience preferred.
• 2 years of college experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and basic data entry.
• Ability to work as part of a team and provide respectful, compassionate service.
• Experience serving diverse populations, including families experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide warm hospitality at the front desk.
• Process guest intake, voucher renewals, and audit reports.
• Respond to guest information requests and logistical needs.
• Answer calls and relay messages to guests.
• Follow desk policies to ensure high-quality service.
• Perform stocking and cleaning tasks as needed for the shift.

What do we need?

We are looking for a customer service-focused individual for our Full-time Guest Services Overnight Associate role. The primary function of this position is to guarantee unsurpassed customer service to People Serving People's guests by performing and providing quality control for all Front Desk activities, and ensuring the effectiveness of a 24/7/365-day operation at the heart of People Serving People's emergency shelter

Success in this role requires punctuality, self-motivation, dependable consistency, and strong conflict de-escalation skills.

*This is an overnight position, Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Responsibilities for Guest Services Overnight Associate:

• Contribute to warm and friendly environment by greeting and providing great hospitality to guests
• Process guest intake, voucher renewals, and audit report paperwork
• Respond to guests' request for information and necessities
• Answers telephone and relays messages for guests
• Understand and follow all front desk policies and procedures to provide excellent guest service
• Performs stocking and cleaning responsibilities as needed for shift

Pay and Benefits for Guest Services Overnight Associate:

• $25.50 hourly
• Full-Time, Sunday - Thursday, from 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Requirements for Guest Services Overnight Associate

• 1 year of front desk associate experience
• 2 years of college experience preferred
• Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience
• Strong experience working as a part of a team
• Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
• Experience working with families or individuals experiencing homelessness preferred
• Knowledge of Hennepin County shelter system preferred
