Job summary

Memphis Zoological Society is seeking a Guest Services Team Member to assist across parking, reception, and building monitoring while delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will share knowledge about zoo experiences, collaborate with staff, and adapt to meet department needs.

Strong customer service, safety awareness, and first aid readiness are essential. The role involves greeting guests, answering questions, guiding visitors, and ensuring smooth operation of parking and entry points.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and helpful service to guests, including greeting, answering questions, and providing directions as needed.
• Share accurate and up-to-date information about zoo experiences, attractions, and amenities.
• Monitor multiple stations including parking, reception, and buildings.
• Control/monitor entry to Zoo parking lots and handle card or cash transactions as necessary.
• Guide vehicles to designated parking spaces and manage traffic flow to prevent congestion.
• Patrol Zoo parking areas and grounds and enforce Zoo policies for safety of animals, guests, and employees.
• Address guest concerns and complaints, using appropriate strategies to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provide first-aid and coordinate emergency response when necessary.
• Communicate incident details to management and submit accurate incident reports promptly.
• Understand emergency plans and safety procedures, especially during emergencies.
