Position Description

Position Summary:

The Guest Services Coordinator (GSC) provides care services for shelter guests and general guest support, assisting GSC II and GSC III with evening/weekend activities as assigned.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Resident Support:
  • Check guests in and out using guest software, following policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to guests using approved techniques and scripture.
  • Assist with monitoring meals and completing assigned tasks.
  • Facilitate nightly activities and supervise as needed.
  • Mediation of disputes and incident recording.
  • Greet and supervise volunteers.
  • Assist with special events and other duties.
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily team meetings and review guest situations.
  • Complete paperwork, incident reports, and emails.
Reporting Relationships

No direct reports, but may assist in supervising guests and volunteers.

  • Adaptability, Collaboration, Guest/Customer Focus, Listening, Emotional Intelligence, Patience, Compassion, Conflict Resolution, Timeliness, Effective Communication.
Education/Experience

Minimum qualifications include:

  • 1+ years of recent, dependable work experience.
  • Flexibility for shifts, including weekends.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED, or willingness to pursue HSE.
  • Desire to learn and develop.
  • Ability to learn software systems.
  • Experience in non-profit programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with addiction, mental health, and trauma support preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Guest Relations, De-escalation, Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health Support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mission Tracker, Paycom.
Physical Requirements
  • Walking, stair navigation, operating office equipment, sitting/standing for long periods, lifting up to 20 pounds.
Other Requirements
  • Conflict of Interest, Confidentiality, Background check, Drug and alcohol policy adherence.
