Job summary

Ritchie Station Residence Inn by Marriott is seeking a friendly Guest Service Agent to greet guests, check them in/out, answer calls, and support daily hotel operations in Capitol Heights, MD. This role offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits for eligible associates.

You will handle guest requests, maintain records with confidentiality, and contribute to a welcoming lobby experience as part of a collaborative team across 90 hotels nationwide.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
• Friendly, positive attitude and willingness to help others.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to stay professional and calm handling guest concerns.
• Ability to handle confidential guest information with integrity.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills are required.
• Reliable and dependable attendance is important.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Check guests in and out and assign rooms as needed.
• Answer phones, route calls, and take messages accurately.
• Respond to guest questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain guest information with confidentiality and accuracy.
• Keep cash and transaction records accurate.
• Complete front desk paperwork, logs and reports.
• Assist with breakfast service and keep the area clean.
• Provide wake-up calls and help with special requests.
• Communicate important guest info to the team via pass-on log.
• Support sales and marketing efforts as directed by the GM.
• Assist with laundry and other hotel operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Check guests in and out and assign rooms.
• Answer phones, route calls, and accurately take guest messages.
• Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Handle guest information and records with confidentiality and integrity.
• Maintain accurate cash and transaction records.
• Complete required front desk paperwork, logs, and reports.
• Perform property walks and help maintain a clean, welcoming lobby and common areas.
• Assist with breakfast service and keep the area clean and stocked, as needed.
• Provide wake‑up calls and assist guests with special requests.
• Communicate important guest and property information to the team through the pass‑on log.
• Support hotel sales and marketing efforts as directed by the General Manager.
• Assist with laundry and other hotel operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous customer service experience preferred; hospitality experience is a plus.
• A friendly, positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain professional and calm when handling guest concerns.
• Ability to handle confidential guest information with integrity.
• Basic computer and cash‑handling skills.
• Reliable and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
