• Assists guests with physical needs by ensuring appropriate transportation is available when needed.
• Communicates visitation policy and provides information on visiting hours and number of visitors.
• Works with volunteers and communicates with volunteer leadership regarding security concerns.
• Maintains interdepartmental relationships in a cooperative and professional manner.
• Identifies guests needing interpreters or spiritual care and responds appropriately.
• Assists with special projects and supports department coordinator and director.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Guest Information Representative assists with serving guests who are visiting patients as well as directs and informs guests of the visitation rules and regulations using computer systems. Working under close supervision, this job helps provide a positive guest and patient experience, assists departments with special projects, works with volunteers to communicate visitation information as well as assists with guests with physical and emotional needs during their visit. The schedule for this position is every other weekend from 7:00am-8:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Essential Job Function

• Serves as the first point of contact for guests, creating a positive and welcoming experience while addressing questions and needs.
• Assists guests with physical needs by ensuring appropriate transportation is available when needed.
• Communicates with guests regarding the hospital visitation policy and provides information to guests regarding number of visitors permitted to the inpatient areas and guest visitation times.
• Communicates with volunteer leadership regarding security concerns and needs. Establishes rapport with guests as well as presents a personal, friendly, and empathetic manner to guests.
• Maintains good interdepartmental working relationships, working in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner with others.
• Recognizes patients and guests who might need language interpreters, sign language interpreters, or assistance from Spiritual care and responds appropriately.
• Assists department coordinator and director with special projects, ensuring timely completion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
