Job summary

Starwood is seeking a Security Officer in Austin, TX to maintain a safe environment across the hotel property. You will patrol interior and exterior areas, control access, respond to incidents, and assist guests and staff while upholding hospitality standards.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, security experience, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain). Excellent English communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security, loss prevention, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Alcohol Awareness certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Any required state/local security licenses must be obtained and maintained.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; additional languages a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to de-escalate situations calmly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hotel property interior and exterior to observe conditions and activities, ensuring policy and law compliance.
• Maintain fixed posts or mobile patrols to monitor activity and prevent theft or unsafe behavior.
• Enforce safety and security procedures to protect guests, residents, visitors, and staff.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and log vendors and visitors as required.
• Respond to incidents, gather information, and prepare detailed reports.
• Escort guests, team members, and valuables as needed using safe routes.
• Assist with emergency evacuations and life safety procedures.
