Job summary

Hotel Commonwealth in Boston is seeking a hotel housekeeping associate to clean and maintain public areas while upholding safety rules. You’ll support the team on floors, remove trash and linens, and respond to guest requests with hospitality.

No formal education or prior experience is required, but a self-starting, guest-focused attitude is essential. This role offers benefits and a prime Fenway-area location.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Strong communication with guests, housekeeping team, and supervisor.
• Ability to assess situations and respond to guest needs promptly.

Responsibilities

• Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers and service trays, empty trash receptacles.
• Remove trash and/or linens and note areas needing immediate cleaning.
• Clean all public areas in prescribed manner following safety procedures (hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc.).
• Remove soiled linen, terry and trash from service areas and transport to proper locations.
• Aid section housekeepers as needed (bed boards, roll-ways, etc.).
• Stock linen and supply closets to maintain par inventories.
• Report missing/found articles, damage or merchandise issues to Senior Housekeeper or supervisor.
• Respond to guest requests and questions and report guest issues in a hospitable manner.
