Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. in Spanish Fort, AL, is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Manager for Eastern Shore Centre to support the store manager in daily operations and to ensure excellent guest service, effective staff management, and execution of sales and marketing strategies.

You will lead shifts, coach Bear Builders, manage scheduling and inventory, and uphold safety and store standards to deliver an Experience First guest experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric setting (preferably specialty retail).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of POS, scheduling, HRIS, and time & attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in assigning daily tasks and managing breaks and priorities.
• Assist in hiring, promotions, and staff development decisions.
• Lead and motivate the team during shifts, enforce policies, and communicate disciplinary actions when needed.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader by coaching team members and creating a Guest-friendly Experience First atmosphere.
• Ensure merchandising displays meet brand standards and maintain a welcoming store environment.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Help build a high-performing team focused on guest experience.
