Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) is seeking a part-time Front Desk Associate in Key West, FL. The role handles guest check-ins/outs, reservations, and guest inquiries, ensuring safe and courteous service in a hospitality setting.

Responsibilities include using the PMS, processing payments, maintaining records, and coordinating with management on group bookings and guest requests. Part-time schedule may include weekends and holidays; travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• One year of general office clerical experience.
• One year progressively responsible experience related to the position.
• Study completed in college/university above high school level may substitute for 6 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional courteous guest service and information on lodging, amenities, and local attractions.
• Process guest check-ins and check-outs, assign rooms, issue keys, and handle payments.
• Use the Property Management System (PMS) to create/modify/cancel reservations and manage guest records.
• Assist management with group reservations and agreements.
• Address guest requests and resolve routine issues within guidelines.
• Operate multi-line phones and handle wake-up calls.
• Report operational concerns and coordinate maintenance requests.
• Process credit card transactions and reconcile daily receipts.
• Generate PMS reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain front desk supplies, keys, and security procedures.
• Assist with staff training and Lost and Found procedures.
• Operate POS for store purchases and stock inventory.
• Assist with food/beverage setup and service as needed.
• Assist with laundry and other lodging support tasks.
• Possess a valid state driver's license and travel between facilities.
• Work shifts including weekends/holidays and during emergencies.
• May obtain NHG front desk certification within six months.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
