Job summary

Gale Hotel Miami is seeking a friendly Host to greet guests, seat them, and help ensure a smooth dining experience. You will manage reservations, supervise the waiting list, and coordinate with the dining team to balance bar and dining room flow.

Fluency in English is required; Spanish preferred. You must be able to stand for long periods, provide excellent service, and maintain high cleanliness standards in a fast-paced hotel restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Host, Customer Service, or related entry-level role in a restaurant.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
• Physical ability to stand for long hours.
• Friendly, responsible, and punctual.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming and departing guests warmly and escort them to dining areas.
• Seat guests based on preference and seating availability; explain menus.
• Answer incoming calls and provide appropriate service.
• Manage bookings in person, by phone, or online.
• Provide personalized service for large parties and VIPs.
• Maintain flow between Dining and Bar areas and communicate wait times.
• Observe guests' needs to ensure high-quality service.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol policies.
• Process dining charges and handle payments for ToGo orders.
• Learn the food and beverage menu.
• Reconcile cash transactions and audits.
