Job summary

InterContinental Indianapolis is seeking a friendly host to welcome guests, guide seating, and coordinate the dining flow at the landmark Illinois Building. You will assist servers with reservations, maintain waiting lists, and ensure a smooth guest experience throughout shifts.

We require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and basic reading/writing plus math. Flexibility for night, weekend, and holiday shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with guests and team members.
• Ability to read, write and do basic math.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer seating choices, escort to table and present menu.
• Inform servers of new guests and maintain accurate waiting list.
• Advise guests on seating availability and manage reservation book.
• Answer host stand telephone promptly and courteously.
• Maintain knowledge of table numbers and seating capacities for the shift.
• Inspect tables and buffets for proper settings and cleanliness.
• Ensure proper lighting, background music, and overall guest experience.
